The photo showed the goose having a homemade dart in its head.
"I saw this yesterday," Greenleaves resident Sandra Hebert said. "They come running in my experience every time to obtain the bread, and that he had this dart in his head."
Hebert feeds the geese in Greenleaves every single day. She was stunned when she saw the goose. She believes it's a victim of someone's cruelty.
"It brings tears to my eyes. I emerge here every day to give these ducks, and someone is cruel," Hebert said.
"Everyone stops on their behalf within the crossing,parajumpers jakke," Greenleaves resident Lauren Heiman said. "Parents bring their kids out here to pet them, well, to feed them."
Nicknamed D'Artagnan, the goose is among scores that live around the ponds at Greenleaves. Residents were heartsick once they saw the wounded bird.
"I'm hoping a vet may come out or somebody that is skilled with working with these types of animals and try to take the dart from its eye," Heiman said.
