National reformation begins at home
Former Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Rev. Anthony Gbuji, has stressed the need for a good family in the society, saying that for national reformation to be achieved, it must begin at home.Gbuji spoke at the 40th wedding anniversary of the traditional ruler of Nike community,Nike Free Run, Enugu State, Igwe Julius Nnaji, and his wife, Lolo Maria,Nike Free Runs, at Holy Cross Catholic Church Nike, recently.The Bishop emeritus, who presented an anniversary certificate from Canaan Galilee to the couple, described Nigeria today as a miracle of divine love, passing through divine growth.He enjoined Nigerians to embrace the President's message of transformation, warning that if the country does not move to greatness, it would slide downwards into degeneration."Security for a good reformed society is good family. Reformation begins at home. Good nation begins at home. If we have many other families like the Nnaji's in Enugu State, then there will be a better Nigeria," Gbuji said.The retired cleric congratulated Nnaji family, especially the Igwe and his wife, for celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary and wished them many better days ahead.In a homily, the Dean of Enugu Deanery,Nike Kobe 8, Monsignor Patrick Ugwu, urged the traditional ruler to emulate the transparency and uprightness of his late father, stressing that he must be transparent in whatever he does.In line with the theme of Shepherd Sunday, which coincided with the wedding anniversary, Ugwu implored members of the Nnaji family to extend generosity to the less privileged.He warned them against using their offices to intimidate people, but to strive to be their brothers' keeper.Ugwu described 40 years anniversary of marriage as remarkable, noting that some marriages break up after five years while some break up after 10 years,Lebron MVP, but Igwe and Lolo have become an example for the younger ones.After cutting the anniversary cake, Igwe Nnaji said for the success of any marriage,Lebron X MVP, couple must show some degree of tolerance and accommodate each other's shortcomings.Thanking God for helping to sustain his marriage for 40 years, the royal father noted that marriage is filled with temptations but assured couple that they will overcome such temptation with love.He also advised new couple to be content with what they have and shun infidelity, saying, "there is no system of marriage that is peculiar, anyway you and your husband see it, live that way.On behalf of the entire Nnaji family, the Chairman of Enugu East local government, Cornelius Nnaji, described the birthday anniversary as a thing of joy for them and thanked all those who came to celebrate with the family.Other dignitaries that attended the anniversary included Enugu State first lady, Clara Chime, state chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Vita Abba and his wife, Senator Gilbert Nnaji, Commissioner for Gender Affairs, Ndidi Chukwu, and Dr. Mrs. Vera Mogboh. The Bishop of Enugu Catholic Diocese, Callistus Onaga was represented by Cathedral Administrator, Rev fr. John Nwafor.
