Owner of Black Sneaker Productions
One thing which has always been said around upstate New York and in Syracuse by just about every wedding ring as long as I can don't forget is that there is nothing offered to help a musician skillfully. or Nashville. No person here gets the idea or what it takes, correct? Wrong! Not only are there musicians with world class abilities and experience in our midst, but you will find people that have been on the leading lines and have tried it all. One such person who I've known for years and watched him expand from a kid astonished by a friend's drum package to putting on implies that everyone goes to observe is JP Voytko. This guy has been there, done that will, and knows exactly what he's doing. Their company, Black Shoe Productions, can do it all. A few things i do is produce shows/events all over the country and globe if needed! If you need a show/event organized and completed, effectively, you want Black Boot and my team, who are some of the best in the industry!
Dave Tell me several of your background. and Pennsylvania and a few other individuals then in a Recreational vehicle up and down the east coast , then on to bigger artists in real tour busses when I was a teen !(182?)All around the country and also Canada then in one point I did a large city tour in the plane! I started genuinely getting into music whenever a skinny (Tommy Lee looking kid) from across town named Rob requested if I wanted to notice his drum kit and the band! (Its a little fuzzy in a lot of elements cause this was earlier 80s and I liked to party a whole lot bad habit for any youngster) I observed this guy play probably the most amazing stuff each! After I looked close up it was like pots and pans and coolwhip containers using like tape and stuff (tampons) all over their drums to make have better tones! This particular blew me away! I wanted to complete what this guy had been doing! Well lengthy story short I sucked at drumming and also gave it up immediately after starting, along with every instrument out there! Later I can play greater now then I could then! Anyway i really took the easy component, or so I thought (roadie) I actually didn't do any road work with Rob right up until he became the percussionist in a band referred to as the BulletBoys. at l . a . Cartage Company named Pals / buddies. I would drive items to studios and show for bands like Danzig, Guns n Roses (during the 120 month long record, yes, I was part of in which ) Crazytown, parajumpers sverige, Ozzy, Nickleback,Parajumpers jakker, and Staind, etc. Countless numbers more! After a few years of back and forth I had the opportunity to work with a bunch of great people !
Dave What are some of the recent shows? I have seen some cool photographs this year, midget wrestling included. from almost the beginning. Matt is the best front man (probably not known) a great guitar player.
Dork Hell yes you can use in which quote, brother! So a local band really wants to reach higher, why don't we go advice, if a band comes to you; what can you look at prior to deciding to come up with an assessment about the subject?
JP Where are they now? Do they have "it"? Meaning great tracks, real drive, as well as stage time may be the biggest for me!!! What i'm saying is, if you want me to find yourself in you, you should have a minimum of been on a stage and played reside!! I must hear some thing I like! I don't back things if I can't stand them! If your wedding ring is half way decent, I can tell in four bars ! The next thing is how they handle themselves off of stage? If they never put anything in the band when they are away stage (where a large amount of the hard work is genuinely done) like marketing the band, selling t shirts, CD's, web pages, and so forth. If you're lazy that shows! Work hard and quite a few likely I will know of them before they are available to me!!!
Dave When you peer out at precisely what bands are doing inside Central New York, what exactly are your thoughts and what do you change up?
JP My thoughts on groups in CNY doesn't change much from anywhere in addition in the world. The main issue for bands is exposure! Too many bars? Way too many bands? Not enough r / c support ?Good tracks ? I think that the record companies as a whole is failing and every band in the world is suffering! I seriously don't have the best answer for which I would change.
Sawzag Robby Karras always tells musicians to write and write; as many songs because they can, you worked with him or her before so you discover how he thinks, what would you say to these bands trying to get noticed and should they get outside opinions with their music before they feature it?
JP This is the most important query to answer. Don't offer all of your music to be able to anyone! You are squandering your time on both concludes! Yes, write plenty of songs but only suggest to them your best! Be open to what people think of your current music, and desire that they tell you the truth; bad and good! Be ready for a lot of "No's". This can be a free one its the bands on the market; no really mean 'not now'! Keep trying till it works for you! Should you be going to ask someone's opinion, be ready for their own answer! Use the suggestions to make your band better and then try again!
Dave That is so accurate, so many can't deal with criticism and take it personally. and our own partnership with Kush Eliminate Clothing and a a lot of open shows! We will have a few new clients to announce to the Black Shoe Family soon!
Dave Thanks again JP, I am looking forward to covering Acidic Method and what they've got coming up, and of course seeing more of your success.
JP Thanks for the support not only to the group but to me too!! It means a lot to myself coming from you!
