Many nikon shooters wish it was faster juat as many canon shooters wished they weren stuck in 20MP during the last 5 years. But let think about this rationally.
4 feet per second vs 6fps isn worlds appart. 6fps is very little framerate suited for fast action. If speed will be of your concern, that old D700 does 8fps with a hold and if speed is your MAIN concern, MP can be secondary. If you genuinely really want more MP,parajumpers, hunt for a used D3X. It is 5fps and higher resolution compared to 5DIII and even canon very own 1DsMKIII. Or get a used D3 and rock with 9fps. All full frame. You got more selections than the canon folks.
Consider the fact that the 5DmkII was just 3.9 fps and it was one of the better selling cameras of these category. I wear think its first person shooter held it back any way.
I do see Nikon putting a low MP high fps body out under 3K as the need is there for such a thing among their base. I assume canon and nikon for you to eventually come up with digital cameras that match another specs but for now, they traded places. I don see a single one hurting too much. neon I do own a D700 with grip and use it a lot (I capture sports for CBS/Maxpreps by it, and plenty of wildlife at the same time). That my point. I can tell the difference between 4, 6 and eight fps (and I shot plenty with a D3 also) and I really do want at least 6fps although 8-10 would be even better! In my book 4 and Six are noticeably various for what I do. And so i not ragging on either camera, just praoclaiming that for me the 6fps 22MP in a form factor entire body (which the D3X is definitely certainly not) is the camera I love to be writing an inspection for today.
