When you are finished with this, it's time to start writing your CV and your cover letter!
To write a CV:
First you need to remember, never to write a CV long as a novel, it will definitely not lead to an employment. Try writing briAppalachian State iPhone 4 Casesef but eventful! Also remember you don't have to fill your resume with the worst cool layout or pictures, as long the text are filling. Start by writing down your personal information: Name, date of birth , phone number, address and email address. Also remember not to have a silly e-mail address, but a formal one like david.berggren@yahoo.com or something. This is typed at the top of the resume.
Write your CV in several of the writings and formal points. Remember, the fact that it looks good overview is very important! Therefore, make your CV airy with clear headlines and neat alignments, and not one bursting with text. For example:
" Goals with the profession " - Briefly write what you want to achieve with the profession , for example , you might want to help old people tWyoming iPhone 4 Caseso get food, showering, dressing and other essentials for living , if you are looking for jobs in the elderly care. "Previous jobs and internships" - You start with the last and end with the earliest. Also, write position, what your boss' name is and concise aNorthwestern State iPhone 4 Casesbout your tasks you had to do, and what experience you learned from them. "Education" - Once again, you start with the last and end with the earliest. Write down period, school, education names, and also focus if there was any. 'Nonprofit Jobs " - This could for example be the football coach in your little brother's team, a scout leader or something similar where you do job but don't earn any money on it. This is always a positive factor in resumes; as it shows that you are committed and willing to do things, without always try to monetize it. "Other" - Allows you to write down the hobbies that are relevant to the job you are seeking. If you are looking for a job at the "The Wallstreet Journal," it's definitely a good idea to write down your potential interest for news and reading. Also the language and computer skills you might have, and if Houston iPhone 4s Casesyou've taken a driver's license and other things that could be beneficial as an employee of the company you are trying to be a part of.
Fit to the job you are seeking - As a young person, you are not expected to have lots of experience, so don't be worried if your resume is a little thin. However, if your resume is already 1000 words long, maybe you should remove anything that doesn't feels relevant. If you are looking for a job as a carpenter,NHL Islanders Samsung Galaxy S3 i9300 Cases, it's not really necessary to write down a week's practice you made many years ago on your dad's job as a truck driver.
Photo or no photo?
It's quite common to brood whether you should place a photograph of yourself in your resume or not. It's actually up to you to decide! Have you been in contact with people in the company you are searching job at, it might be an advantage if you have a picture of yourself so you will be recognized. Otherwise, there's actually no reason to have a photo at all, but it's never a negative thing.
Now we are ready with CV! Then we just have the cover letter left. In this, you describe yourself in more detail because you want to convince the boss you are the right person to hire.
The cover letter:
Do not use a different layout than the one you had in your CV, it can be annoying to the reader. Your CV and cover letter should be similar to each other,SMU Samsung Galaxy Note II N7100 Cases, but absolutely not the same! For instance, it's important that you use the same kind of text (Calibri size 13 suggested) , background color, etc.
Customize after the job you're looking for - It's really important that you describe who you are! It's also important you cover letter tells us exactly what makes you the perfect man for the company! Show clearly that you read the ad properly. Does the employer say they are looking for a "nice and service oriented person with a smile on his face"; you should try to seem like it, of course! It's also important to remember you don't repeat what you wrote in your resume. Add weight in the text and tell the boss what you can bring to the company, and what it will mean for you personally working for them.
Illustrate your qualities - Simply writing, "I am a nice person who is easy to talk to and that you're a good listener," doesn't say very much in the boss' eyes, unless you illustrate it. You must describe how you've handled nice in situations earlier in your life. For example how you a chilly autumn evening sat down beside aNHL Ducks iPhone 4 Casesn old man on the bus and started a friendly conversation. Writing this way, you will convince the boss' you really are a nice person and accommodating.
Do not Missouri iPhone 4s Casestell your life story - It's important not to write exactly everything in your cover letter, even though much of it is amusing to read. Save some gunpowder to the actual job interview. This way, you'll show the boss' you are an interesting and diverse person, who doesn't need to write everything down on a piece of paper to tell who you are.
You do not give any references unless it says so in the ad, save them to the interview instead. Also remember to check that your references are still valid, and that your former managers remember you. Maybe it turns out you've written down a reference to a company you earlier worked for, which now changed owners, who don't know you at all.
When you're finished:
When your CV and cover letter are ready, it's time to submit your application. Insert your CV and your cover letter in ONE document, preferably in Word. It's a common mistake that people send in their applications in a unique program which the employer may not have on their computer, and they won't be able to open the files on their computers.
I hope my tips have helped you! To further give you some inspiration, we have produced an example of how a resume can look like.
Good Luck!
