Querrey aces way into Auckland semifinals,moncler pas cher suisse
AUCKLAND, New Zealand Sam Querrey's booming serve carried him past Jesse Levine 64, 76 (5) on Thursday and in to the semifinals of the Heineken Open.
Fourthseeded Querrey had 16 aces, to go with the 19 he had in the secondround match against Olivier Rochus, to earn a semifinal place opposite secondseeded Philipp Kohlschreiber.
Their careers have since diverged and Querrey has lifted his world ranking to 22 while Levine was forced to qualify in Auckland on his current ranking of 104.
Thursday's match was his 10th of the season after he also qualified at last week's Brisbane International,parajumpers jakke.
Topseeded David Ferrer downed Slovakia's Lukas Lacko 62, 61 in just 52 minutes. The Spaniard rebounded after struggling with the pace from the courts in his opening match on Wednesday as he needed three sets and two hours to beat Lu Yenhsun of Taiwan.
Ferrer will face the winner from the last quarterfinal, due on court later Thursday,canada goose oslo butikk, between thirdseeded Tommy Haas and Gael Monfils.
"No match is easy but I played an excellent game, better than yesterday," he said. "I were built with a good feeling with my game, with my shots and yesterday it had been a little surprise for me personally the court was faster. But today I felt better."
The win kept Ferrer on the right track for his fourth singles title in Auckland and the third in as many years, feats which will match those of Roy Emerson of Australia.
Querrey kept up his drive toward the final having a narrow win over the tenacious Levine. The American won 80 % of points on first serve, dropping serve just once within the match within the third bet on the first set.
"The big serve is really helpful, particularly in these tiebreakers," Querrey said. "Fortunately I had been playing well today. Jesse managed to get tough today. We've been playing against one another since i was about 13 years of age and it's tough each time."
Kohlschreiber reached the Auckland semifinals for that fourth amount of time in nine attempts,canada goose, posting his 21st singles victory in the tournament in the cost of Belgian Xavier Malisse.
