on their feet during wintertime
I know you mentioned short booties, however tall boots together with skinny jeans/pants tucked in is really in right this moment and is usually rather flattering. Most importantly, it really is warm.
You could also attempt laceup oxfords. that cover the whole feet. Those are acquireable right now and are adorable. I would look up some specific styles for you personally, but I'm method tired. Zappos is a good place to start always, even if you don't buy from them.
Honestly though, under $100 is too low. It's absolutely worth it to pay a few hundred dollars on a sturdy pair of footwear to wear all winter, because they will last anyone for years, sometimes years. If you go with a thing from For example.

Ankle boots certainly are a pretty good standard currently if you're fashion conscious. My partner and i second the recommendation with regard to Clark's my $150 pair is going robust after 5 years. (We are budget style in all things but shoes. My shoe selection is small however carefully invested in because while cared for well, they LAST.)
But if you only want some trendy throwaways, I'd suggest published by medea42 at Five:02 AM in December 25, Last year
You could go for a different of boots slouchy kneehighs or calflength, studded, dodgy, whatever, a lot of types are in fashion right this moment. Lowheeled oxfords and loafers are also popular
Youlookfab, my favorite "how to" style blog site (although it's a little biased in favor of classic, parajumpers forhandler, slightly conservative type) has had some respectable posts on footwear and what to wear it with. The comments tend to be helpful too, while people chime in to focus on what kinds of things they will wear with the object under discussion in what kind of climate. They may be under $100 now, fan usually sell for above $200.

I have these and they are generally the most comfortable footwear in the world!

I not really know about Mizu's suggested boot from a style viewpoint, but I own these and haven't been in a position to stop wearing them. They may be one of the most comfortable sets of shoes I've ever held, heels or absolutely no. FWIW, when I bought these at the store, the clerk said it was a really popular style, therefore i can't be the only one who thinks they look fine. I'm not at all convinced they'll last 5+ many years, though.

Basically suggestions and hyperlinks, everybody! I should have been more clear in the beginning that we're not actually searching for a pair that will get me through the entire winter season, snow and all I are now living in NYC where issues get plowed pretty swiftly, parajumpers jakke dame, and I have actual snowboots for times when the salt and slush obtain too bad (because of course you're right; footing over fashion!). I'm more just looking regarding something to wear when it is not crazywet, but freezing to expose the top of a new bare foot.
I personally have a couple pairs of kneeboots already. The trouble is I have massive, elephantine lower legs and have to buy specialised wide calf footwear (. and generally still go get the shafts expanded even then), and getting my own bulkily deminclad legs into these is pretty difficult, even though I like the look. For similar reason, I've shied from midcalf boots all the ones We've tried on help to make my legs appear to be stuffed cylinders. Less than hot.
But! Oxfords make the perfect idea. And those Borns the very first Clarks mentioned are pretty. (I won't even talk about the Fryes, which make my hands itch a little with longing.) And I've have got to check out the 6pm sale ..
