He likes a lot of young encyclopedia science books, has asubsrciption to national geo kids magazine plus some of there books. He likes lego books(ninjago, canada goose price,) or star wars. DS wants to find out about different counrties so excyclopedia type books are always good. What are his hobbies and interests?
Goose bumps? 39 clues looks neat. Roscoe rules? Box car children
I am not really up to date on upperlevel books. I've got a 6 yo Kindergartener who is reading in a 1st grade level and it is into only Fly Guy, Barbie, and Lalaloopsy! haha! Perhaps you have asked the teacher for other grade's book clubs? I remember being in school I started reading very early and what food was in a 5th grade level in 1st grade, parajumpers jacka, it had been frustrating and boring reading books which were below my reading level, I'd fly through them in 30 seconds, the 5th grade teachers will give me one of their book club magazines. Scholastic also has a website. We order books constantly. My kids do not get toys except for birthdays and Christmas, but they know I'll always buy them books! Scholastic has some great deals!
Going agaisnt the grain here, if your son likes reading stories with lots of comicbook pictures like Diary ofa Wimpy Kid or Captain Underpants, he might 't be ready for fullon long chapter books, especially ones with intricate plots and character development.
That isn't to say your son couldn't read every word of, say, Robinson Crusoe. However i don't care how talented they're, most second graders are still developing the stamina to see a whole page with no pictures to interrupt it up.
Has your son or daughter indicated he wants different books to see? Otherwise, canada goose sale, I'd let him stay with what he knows and likes.
Or you could buy him some comic books. They still make comics, don't you think?
I believe offering a range with pictures is always great to maintain interest however i dont find maintaining "stamina to see a whole page without any pictures to interrupt it up. " is a problem for my/manychild who reads well. He chooses to lay in bed and read chapter books and that he isnt quite 7. He enjoys a real story and we discuss what he read therefore we are sure he is comprehending it(he stopped reading aloud in K and was reading flat stanley, no pic easy chapter books in begining of K.) Again, I think choosing books that are of interest regardless of level is nice, variety is great to keep interest.
I've an advanced first grade reader (just turned 7). He is reading at a guided reading level "p",canada goose online. Here are a few in our favorites.
My little guy does NOT like anything scary. Its difficult to find books at their level that are age appropriate! Geronimo Stilton is a series that includes a lot of pictures. If you have any concerns regarding your own health or the health of the child, you should always meet with a physician or other doctor.
