California Towhee Pictures
An extensive, abundant denizen of parks and gardens through the majority of coastal California, this species often happens in pairs yearround, such as the canyon and the Abert's towhees. Identification Brownish overall; crown slightly warmer brown than rest of upperparts. Buff throat bordered with a distinct broken ring of brownish spots; no dark just right breast, unlike the canyon.
